Hello Hen House readers! This week feels crazy. I'm both, getting a lot done, and nothing at all. Lets do a check list of stuff I'm working on.
My Products:
Keychain Charms - Done and ready to go
Matching Game - Needs extra pieces printed
Tray Addon (Now known as "My Dynamic Design Series") - Printed and painted but didn't get attached to tray because the router is broken in the shop.
Decorative Tray - Just needs handles put on
K-Cup Holder - Leather topper needs to be added
All needs to be done today. I spent the week trying to finish all these projects. Mostly learning about leather. How to dye it, how to round the edges, proper way to cut it. All learning curves.
REMINDER: I'm hosting a couple of events for LM. I'll be at at table for Make It Fest, and another table at the Lowell Folk Festival.
I will NOT be selling at Make It Fest. It's more about Lowell Makes and showing off what can be done there.
I WILL be selling at Lowell Folk Festival. I'm very excited about that!
Speaking of Make-It-Fest, we have decided to showcase the best of Lowell Makes. I posted on Basecamp (our social platform) and asked for temporary donations to showcase.
I got crickets.
Posted again and tagged specific people and got one response.
Ben, who is head of metal shop, decided to lend me something. Something that has honestly got me sweating bullets. The conversation went like this.

He went on to say the Bass Guitar is worth 3k! So yes, I'll be watching it like a hawk!
After that I started asking people in person. I got a wonderful woman woodworker E.B. to donate a resin poured Charcuterie Board.
Another woodworker and tech guy Pete (soon to be Penny) to donate custom made Headphones.
I talked to everyone I knew! Hopefully I'll get more submissions today. Andee (my co-host) scored a robotic arm that people can play with. And we have both been working on the "Meet The Makers" banner.
I designed the banner, questions and answers, she updated them and handed them back. Carol (another on the team) printed the banner and I printed the answers. Still have to print the questions.

For those wondering what this banner is. We sent out an interview for the members of Lowell Makes and asked them things like "What has your journey been like?" and "What is your dream project".
Those questions and answers will be on a huge banner so we can all learn about each other.

In family news, one day while I was held up at a class (more on that later) my daughter cleaned the house for me! I was so happy when I came home. I took her out for a little meal.
While we were out she showcased her talent at getting free things.

It was my Husbands birthday on Wednesday! He is now 41 like me. He did what his soul wanted, which was to be as far away from his desk as possible. We drove around looking a houses we want to buy someday.
We picked up my daughter from school which was having a field day, and we all went out to eat at Bon Chon.
We then went next door and got ice cream to burn off those drinks. I needed to pick up the other kids from school. They said "did you get a cake for Papa?".
We were all so full but I got a cake anyway so the little ones could sing happy birthday to their Papa. It was a lot of fun and I think my husband got the charge he needed.
About that class, (this is what happens when I miss a blog post), I attended a mortise and tenons class. I got to learn the art of hand tools.
It was a very interesting experience. I believe I'll use some of those talents going forward. Thank you to Russ Tanner for teaching and Lowell Makes for hosting the class!
Next Post will be all about our event at Make-It-Fest. Hope to see you there!
