Exciting things are happening

Updated: May 13

Hello Hen House readers!

Exciting things are happening here. I've decided to open an Amazon store. Turns out to be a bit more complicated than I thought. Lets talk about that.

Amazon wants you to have a universal number for each product. It cost $250 every year to get those numbers. That's a lot when factoring in all the other cost I listed in my last posts.

But there is an exception.

If I own my own brand fully and I hand make my products, I can file for an exemption. Good news is, I qualify. Bad news is, I need to be officially registered as a sole proprietorship that Amazon can search up and link to my account.

Doesn't cost much, just $50 and a trip to city hall. While I'm waiting for my brand to go through the system, there is another part of this process.

I need pictures of all my products, front and back. I have pictures of them from the front. As seem here. Amazon wants to see that my items don't have someone else's brand on it.

Amazon Affiliate Time

Seriously, this is the easiest way to support my business. Click the link and anything you buy

- within 24 hours -

gets attributed to me and I get a small %

If 24 hours passed just click it again.

You don't have to purchase what is showcased, you can get anything!

Every product I feature I have personally

purchased and approve.

In other news. I got an order from my affiliate program at Amazon. Yes, that link you just scrolled by. One of my Hen House followers clicked on a link, then bought something.

It's not much but it's GREATLY appreciated! Thank you to who ever did it. Here is what was ordered:

I'll report every week on what was purchased. If the items are appropriate that is.

Let's see, what else is going on...

Oh yea, I ordered double sided tape for my tray add-on project. I don't want to put the affiliate link yet. If I use them and they are good then I will.

More on this project in a future post.

Since my brand will be official, it's got me thinking about my logo. It's been met with confusion. Most people thinking the chicken foot is an arrow head.

Here is my re-design:

The stars and stripes represent the 'Free' in my brands name. The hen's foot carving a place in that freedom represents me and the Hen House followers. Below is an excerpt from my website about my brand name:

While researching a name I wanted something Country, something, American, something that inspires a Happy Home. Lucky for me, I found all three!
'Home' is where you feel when safe and self sufficient! 'Hen' was taken from the very country image of a hen house. 'Free' is for the homesteader in all of us. The part of us that yearns to live independently. And 'Free" is very important to me for another reason...
'Free' is put in my companies name because I, living in America, am free to start a company, raise my children, make my own products. Live, Love and Believe what I want, and I'm proud of that.

I won't obsess about my old logo being on things. Who knows, maybe they will be a collector item in the future. I'll just start using my new logo and phase out the old one organically.

Thanks for reading! If you haven't, don't forget to subscribe...
