A Year of Projects, Unique Decor, tools, and Recipes — and a Waitlist to Make It Real
I’ve been researching and planning something I’m genuinely excited about: a monthly Homesteading Box—a delivery that helps you live self sufficient. Complete with country deco, recipes, tools, and projects at home.
But here’s the honest behind-the-scenes truth: this is a big undertaking! Here is just a small list of what I've been doing to get ready:
Plan an entire year of boxes with lessons, goals, and badges to earn.
Write code and backend my website so all my badges and online community works flawlessly.
Create beautiful badges that everyone wants to earn.
Advertise and get the word out.
Make contact with wholesalers and sign contracts.
Items in boxes need to be worth more than the subscription cost. Products need to work well, be what my customers want, and all fit into a box that can be reasonably shipped.
Sigh, what have I started?
The more people who join the waitlist, the quicker I can see the demand—and the faster I can confidently get started. I'll be researching and building in the background but wholesale thrives on buying in bulk.

What I want each monthly box to include
My vision is for every box to move you closer to “homestead living.” Every month should include:
A hands-on project (something you can actually make or do)
Country/farmhouse decor that fits the time of year
Useful homesteading kits for beginners, tools and supplies
Recipes (practical, comforting, and doable)
Personal notes from me—behind-the-scenes, what I’m learning, and why I chose what’s inside
A challenge that earns you an exclusive badge and access to online community spaces.
Who should sign up...
In my research I've talked to many people. The biggest excuse I hear is "I live in a small place, I can't homestead." That's why I'm designing each project to be done, even if you live in a one bedroom apartment.
Herbs can be grown indoors, butter can be made, bread can be baked. You can even do canning without a big machine.
All of America can be healthier!
The waitlist is how we launch
To get this off the ground, I need at least 100 people on the waitlist.
Startup cost is steep. The best way to save money and pass those savings to you, is buying in bulk. Some wholesalers won't sell to you unless you meet a price threshold. Which means it is better to have the whole year planned out, then I can add multiple items from that manufacturer.

Behind the scenes: why the box is actually a better deal
Something interesting I learned while working with wholesalers is how taxes work when you’re reselling items.
If I sell every item separatly, I need to charge tax on full retail price of every single item.

But if I put those same items in a box with a bunch of other items and ship it, I only need to charge the tax on the subscription box.

I’ll be at the Lowell Folk Festival again! Last year was so awesome.
This year I’ll be bringing twice as many K-cup holders since they sold so well last year. I’ll also be putting my keychain charms on sale for the first—and maybe last—time.
I might even have a brand new toy. You’ll just have to see me to find out what it is.

A new wedding project I’m developing
I’ve also been working on a new project for weddings: Name Placeholders
But of course I can’t just laser some names and call it a day like everyone else does—I have to do something better.
My placeholders will be beautiful keepsakes with a little easel to display them. Here is the best part: they double as nametags! By attaching magnets to the back I can make them nametags that don’t harm expensive outfits.
